Minaret Lodge - Wanaka

"Location. Named after the Minaret Mountains, the Minaret Lodge in Wanaka, New Zealand, is located next to Lake Wanaka and within walking distance of the Wanaka Town Centre. The lodge sits on a two acre, park like setting with landscaped grounds and a backdrop of spectacular mountain scenery surrounded by oak, silver birch and larch trees.
Hotel Features. The Minaret Lodge serves traditional cooked or continental breakfasts each morning and offers a three course dinner with wine, featuring seasonal food selections. Lodge facilities include a spa, sauna, petanque, mountain bikes and ski storage.

The lodge is built of adobe and has a plastered, schist stone finish used to reflect the traditional style of the Central Otago region. This mud brick construction was built in the 1950s and renovated extensively in 2001 when the guestrooms were added.

Guestrooms. The Minaret Lodge has five guestrooms with private ensuites and bathrooms. Room feature fine furniture, local art, and verandas with views of the lodge's garden. Additional amenities include tea/coffee makers, complimentary mineral water, microwave ovens, mini fridges and cable television. Bathrooms offer complimentary toiletries, bathrobes and heated floors.

Expert Tip. Fans of the ""Lord of the Rings"" trilogy can see what it's like to live as a hobbit. The Barlimans room offers oversized furniture and a special hobbit menu. The property also provides tours around Wanaka to where scenes from the motion pictures were filmed."
